About Us
USJMI Christian College has been striving to cultivate Montessori teachers based in California, where the school is based, and many teachers are currently working at the California Montessori School through this school as proud teachers to help children's autonomy and independence. Furthermore, it is a social education institution that provides and contributes social education to improve the quality of life and help a better future and lifestyle through various hobbies and educational programs from Korean American children to the elderly in the United States.
USJMI Christian College is a registered 501(c)(3) non profit educational organization.
1994
Founded in Seoul, South Korea, under the name Korean Council for Social Education Leaders.
The institution was launched under the guidance of former Environment Minister Hwang San-sung and Dr. Jae-woo Lee, Dean of the Graduate School at Chung-Ang University.
Dr. Soon-Keum Choi, the founding president, played a key role in establishing the academic and ethical foundations of the institution.2004
Established in California, USA, as the U.S. Joong-Ang Montessori Institute.
2007
Accredited by the State of California as an official educational institution and began training and certifying Montessori teachers.
2008-Present
Signed an educational partnership with Hanyang University to build a bridge between early childhood educators in Korea and the United States, promoting broader educational collaboration.
